JOB PURPOSE:
This staff is responsible for receiving, storing, distributing, issuing office, classroom supplies/ materials and equipment within a warehouse environment. Other basic functions include checking incoming and outgoing materials by counting, measuring, distributing, issuing, and requisitioning items; taking and maintaining inventories, and keeping related clerical records. This staff drives Head Start vehicle for purpose of transporting supplies/ materials.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receives, stores, and issues equipments, materials, supplies, toys and compiles records concerned with quantity, costs and type of items received, stored and issued in the Head Start Preschool delegate agency warehouse.
Examines and verifies all deliveries and items to ensure accuracy and undamaged items.
Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming article to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices.
Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications and rejects defective one.
Stores article in bins, on floor, or on shelves according to identifying information.
Prepares inventory and maintains perpetual inventory records.
Distributes and delivers materials, supplies, equipment, food items, toys, etc. to school facilities, and kitchen upon receipt of authorized requests.
Responsible for keeping and taking inventory at sites of materials and supplies delivered.
Prepares requisitions for procurement of materials and supplies.
Compiles record on adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage or damage to stock and location changes.
Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of company vehicles.
Attends Head Start meetings, facilities meetings, in-service training and participates in professional growth activities.
Supports and ensures the achievement of recruitment and enrollment goals.
Assists in accomplishing the program’s non-federal share through the access of community resources (services, donations, discounts, and/or goods).
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
High School Graduate or GED equivalent. Post- secondary education preferred. (Requires a copy of the high school diploma, college diploma, and college transcript showing units completed, and any certificate or credential pertaining to the job.)
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of one (1) year prior experience a stock clerk, supply clerk, stock record clerk or similar position. Minimum of six (6) months of experience in driving a van or truck.
SKILLS:
Ability to gather, collate and classify information numerically, alphabetically or chronological and report or executes prescribed actions relating to such information. Ability to take and give instructions. Ability to lift more than 50 lbs. (need doctor’s certification) Ability to interact effectively with others. Computer literate and ability to operate office equipment.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Valid California Driver’s License and insurance coverage
Must pass the following background checks prior to start of employment:
Sex Offender Registry
Child Abuse and Neglect State Registry
State or Tribal Criminal History Check, including fingerprints
FBI Criminal History Check, including fingerprints
Must have verification of T.B. clearance at time of employment, to be renewed every four years (every 4 years for chest x-rays).
Must pass health screening (LIC 503) at time of employment, health screening is accepted within one year prior to hire, to be renewed every four (2) years.
Provide proof of the following immunizations as required: Measles, Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and Influenza.
COVID vaccination required; must have two-dose series of Pfizer or Moderna or a single-dose of Johnson & Johnson. Those that need a medical or religious exemption must reach out separately.
Must complete 15 clock hours of professional development annually that builds the knowledge, experience, skills, and abilities of staff to improve child, family, and staff outcomes. Of this, a minimum of 50% of the 15 hours (or 7.5 hours) must be focused on the specific content area or job assignment. Must also complete an annual Professional Development Plan (PDP) to be reviewed three (3) times during the year.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The working conditions and physical demands of this position will be those that must be met to successfully perform the essential duties of the position. The physical environment the incumbent will work in is typically an office environment with moderate noise levels that would be expected in that type of work environment.
T.B. Test within the past year prior to employment, and every four (4) years thereafter (every 4 years for a chest X-ray).
