ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND

Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment (PACE) was founded in 1975 to provide job training and placement services for the Asian Pacific Islander communities in Los Angeles. PACE has since expanded into a variety of service areas, all tailored to meet the growing and changing needs of the multi-ethnic communities in Los Angeles County. Now, in addition to job training and employment services, significant PACE programs encompass business development; early childhood education (Head Start); financial education and asset building; housing and rehabilitation services; weatherization and energy-conservation programs; and affordable housing development. PROGRAM SUMMARY

The PACE Energy and Environmental Services Department provides Home Energy Assistance, Weatherization and other services to low-income residents of the greater Los Angeles area. These programs provide utility bill assistance and install measures to help improve the energy efficiency, safety and comfort of eligible homes or multiple unit residences. https://pacela.org/our-work/energy/

POSITION DESCRIPTION

PACE is seeking for motivated, detail-oriented individuals to join our Energy Department as an Assessor & Quality Assurance Inspector. In this role, the individual will visit homes, talk with residents, and help identify ways to make homes safer, more comfortable, and more energy efficient. The focus of this position is to work directly with Korean-speaking communities in Los Angeles. No prior experience is necessary — we will provide full training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visit homes to assess energy efficiency needs.
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating home energy services.
  • Document inspections and prepare simple reports.
  • Educate families about energy-saving programs and benefits.
  • Ensure safety and program guidelines are followed.

Qualifications

  • Must be fluent in Korean (spoken and written).
  • High School Diploma or GED or 3 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer skills (email, Word, Excel).
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance.
  • Willingness to complete paid training.

Additional Requirements

  • Must satisfactorily pass background and employment/reference check
  • COVID vaccination required; must have two-dose series of Pfizer or Moderna or a single-dose of Johnson & Johnson. Those that need a medical or religious exemption must reach out separately.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl during inspections.
